Director General of Islamic Education (Dirjen Pendis) of the Ministry of Education, M Ali Ramdhani, said madrasah alumni must have high insight and literacy to reach Indonesia Gold 2045. Through this AKMI, according to him, the Ministry wants to measure how far a learning process is achieved by the students.

“This assessment is a choice of four things, the first being reading literacy, numerical literacy, science literacy and socio-cultural literacy. These four literacies are considered as locomotives capable of measuring and rooting how far our students can survive even when they graduate from our education program,” Ramdhani said in a press release received by Republika.co.id on Tuesday (5/12/2023).

This was conveyed by him at the opening of the National Seminar on Dissemination of AKMI Results 2023 in Kemayoran, Jakarta, Monday (4/12/2023) evening. The event entitled 'Building Highly Literate Indonesian Humans Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045' was held in Jakarta on December 4-7, 2023.

In his speech, the man known as Kang Dhani explained that in the initial phase, this AKMI will be conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI), later developed at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) and at Madrasah Aliyah (MA).

“For children MI is applied in the fourth grade. Why apply in the fourth grade? Because the learning achievement of his tools was when he graduated from the educational unit from the MI level,” he said.

It will measure and root how far the learning ability of madrasah students in the fourth year is achieved, so that there is time left to complete the designed curriculum.

“The same choice is also in MTs, we organize in the eighth grade and in MA is applied in the eleventh grade,” said Kang Dhani.

In its development, the Directorate of KSKK Madraasah also entrusted the Madrasah Reform program that it is unfair to measure only students' abilities. Because, according to him, it may be that the learning process is not well absorbed by the madrasah students because the problem is precisely with the teacher.

Therefore, it also organizes Teacher Competency Assessment (AKG). This is done to find out the problem it is in the teacher or student.
