Baznas Receives IDR 3 Billion Humanitarian Aid from Unilever Indonesia

Baznas considers collaboration to be a crucial element in addressing various social issues.

Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (Baznas) has again received humanitarian aid from Unilever Indonesia. This time, Rp 3 billion in support will be channeled to help victims in conflict areas. REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) has again received humanitarian aid from Unilever Indonesia. This time, Rp 3 billion in support will be channeled to help victims in conflict areas.

The handover of humanitarian donations was symbolically held today at Baznas Building, Jakarta, attended by the Chairman of Baznas, Noor Achmad; Director of Zakat and Waqf Empowerment (Ditzawa) Ministry of Religion, Waryono Abdul Ghafur; Independent Commissioner of Unilever Indonesia, Alissa Wahid; and Director and Corporate Secretary of Unilever Indonesia, Nurdiana Darus.

Baznas Chairman Noor Achmad welcomed the assistance from Unilever Indonesia and sincerely appreciated the long-standing and continuing partnership between the two parties. Collaboration becomes a crucial element in collective efforts to address a wide range of social issues.

“Continued contributions from private entities, such as Unilever Indonesia, play a key role in achieving peace and justice, especially in conflict-torn regions.”

Baznas, as a body believed to be an extension of the various parties, continues to coordinate closely with various agencies to continue to channel aid through its network of 463 district-level branches, 34 provinces, 28 national amil zakat institutions, and 23 international zakat institutions.

Meanwhile, the Director of Zakat and Waqf Empowerment (Ditzawa) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Waryono Abdul Ghafur in his speech said, “It is necessary for joint and sustained strength to help our brothers who are in conflict areas. We, on behalf of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, welcome and appreciate the work done by Unilever Indonesia. I hope this social discussion can be useful.“

Director and Corporate Secretary of Unilever Indonesia, Nurdiana Darus said she was concerned and saddened by the conflict, which has taken many civilian casualties. Concern continues to be done in various forms to provide humanitarian assistance, this time with Baznas channeling a donation worth Rp 3 billion.

“Of course, our prayers are ceaseless with those affected in this extraordinarily difficult time,” Nurdiana said.

“The endless donations from donors can hopefully ease the suffering of our brothers and sisters affected by the conflict. With hope, rest assured that the contribution made will create a meaningful positive impact, provide well-being and improve humanitarian conditions for the victims,” Kiai Noor concluded.
